Plot: Tyrion’s trial gets messy quickly: Behind the scenes, Jaime pleads for Tyrion’s life, and his father (serving as judge alongside Margaery’s father, Mace Tyrell, and Oberyn) acquiesces and offers his younger son the lesser punishment of banishment to the Night’s Watch, as long as he confesses guilt and pleads for mercy.
